Awesome Feeling

Back in college, I met a great friend named Matt.  I saw him frequently in my visits to Penn State, and as much as possible, I followed his volleyball games at PSU.  Fast forward a couple years, after Matt left Penn State after his junior year to play volleyball over seas, and I am watching Matt on the Mens Volleyball Olympic Team.... that's right, I said OLYMPIC!!

While Matt's been busy with his life, and I have been busy with mine, it's an awesome feeling watching the Olympics knowing someone!

I thought I'd share some pictures from college to reminisce!

SO proud to say that I know you, Matt Anderson!  Let's go USA Volleyball!!!!

Play Day

This afternoon, Jason and I got to spend some time with our niece Kadence!  While we are still waiting for her levels to come back up, we're happy to announce that they found a match for her for the bone marrow transplant and she will be able to get that once her levels are where the doctors would like them.

Our afternoon was packed full of puzzles, sand art, Guess Who, Candyland, Coloring and of course some Nickelodeon shows.

Tonights Dinner

Tonight Jason had a baseball game, so I figured it was a perfect opportunity to make something in the crock pot so that it was ready when the game was over.  Since most recipes make entirely too much for the two of us, I invited my parents and Meghan over too.

This was our dinner:
Buffalo Chicken Sandwiches in the Crock Pot

And this was our dessert:
Peanut Butter Cheese Ball

I would highly recommend both of these recipes, and they were both really easy!!

My Husband is So Handy!!

I keep forgetting to brag about what my husband did for me two weeks ago!  Back in January, he re-did the floor in our master bathroom from the typical builders grade floor to beautiful tile!  Our master bathroom is smaller than the shared bathroom and it is also deemed Jason's bathroom, while the shared bathroom is mine.  I have been anxiously awaiting my turn for some new flooring, and I am very pleased with the results!

Here is what the bathroom did look like:

Kills for Kadence

A few weeks ago, my cousin Alivia approached me wondering if I thought it would be a good idea to host a Kills for Kadence Doubles Volleyball tournament this summer.  My answer was that of course I thought it would be a good idea, and that I'd help however she needed me to.  After passing around the information and hoping for no rain today, the tournament was a success and over $200 was raised to donate to Kadence!!

What hit me the most was that none of the people involved have even met Kadence!  They were only told that a little girl and her family were struggling, and that's all it took to get them out there!  Look at these dedicated players, they even made shirts!!

I was reminded today of the generosity of others!  With everything negative happening in the news this weekend, it's easy to remember the bad things and the hatred that some people have.  This group of people was the exact opposite and proved to me that even at this young of an age, they can make a difference!!  I am extremely proud of Alivia for putting the tournament together, but also for all of the participants, because they helped a family in need, with no questions asked!!

Dear Jason- Volume 3

Dear Jason,

I wasn't able to do this post on Friday due to our busy schedules, so I am a few days late.  I will make it short, since I'll do another one in a few days hopefully.

I just wanted to tell you how much I enjoy watching you play baseball.  Sure, the temperatures have been less than enjoyable this summer, but I really do like watching you play.  Tonight, I knew you were going to do great pitching against the number one ranked team, and you proved me right!  I am glad I brought you some beverages for after the big shutout that you pitched!

I Love You!!....Forever and Always!!

Love,
Your Proud Wifey :-)

Surprise!!

Tonight Jason had a game over at the Shiloh field, so I sent one of my oldest friends Kelly a text, since the field is near her house.  I knew it was last minute, so I wasn't sure if I would get to see her, but I DID!!!  And I also got to see her incredibly adorable little girl Mackenzie and it was so great to catch up!!

I wish I took a picture of the sweet little girl, but between "swimming" on the sidewalk and listening to her talk about planes and cars, my time was taken up!  It's amazing to see how much Kenz has grown up and I LOVED watching Kelly be a Mom to her!  Made me excited to be one too someday :-)

Go Phillies!!

On Friday evening, when it was a whopping 96 degrees outside, Jason and I spent the night at the Phillies game.  They played the Atlanta Braves, and unfortunately they lost, but we had a great time!  I thought I would share some pictures!

Dear Jason- Volume 2

I know it's not Friday yet, but tomorrow night we'll be at the Phillies game, and it's 11:00 on Thursday night, so this will have to do :-)

Dear Jason,

Words cannot describe how happy I felt when I came home from babysitting tonight.  I know you said there was a surprise for me when I got home, but I never expected that your surprise would make me cry and make me feel so complete at the same time!  I know you really aren't a card person, but the letters and notes that you write make up for it, and they make such an impact on me!  While you were writing papers and killing time before poker night, I love to think that I was on your mind enough to put this little surprise together!!
Not only did you write me the sweetest of all notes but you even picked some rose petals from our flowerbed, which makes them even more special!

I am looking forward to our weekend together, and for all the random surprises like this one tonight that are going to come my way!

I think you will appreciate the cleaning inspiration that your surprise has ignited in me-- toilets are cleaned, cabinets organized, trash collected and put at the curb, kitty litter cleaned and recycling put at the curb.  See what your surprises can do ;-)

I Love You!!... Forever and Always!!

Chicken Pot Pie Cupcakes

I stumbled across the recipe for Chicken Pot Pie Cupcakes the other week, and I knew I had to try it.  Here is the link to the recipe:
http://pinterest.com/pin/36169603227733447/

I picked up the ingredients (I had most of them) and I must say that this was a breeze to whip up!  It only needed to bake for 15 minutes, so they were super quick!

Here is the final product
These are mine (with no chicken) and then Jason's has the chicken added.

I would highly recommend this easy recipe!  Enjoy!!
