25 Weeks

How far along?: 25 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of cauliflower
Total weight gain/loss: Around 15
Stretch marks?: None
Sleep?: Pretty normal for the most part
Maternity clothes?: Yep, very comfortable maternity clothes at that :-)
Best moment this week: BK got to support his Daddy at his first MiniTHON at Central!  We lasted for part of the time, but next year, when he's an outside baby, we may even get him a personalized onesie to wear!
Worst Moment: Pure exhaustion.  With PSSAs and coaching, I really feel like I'm over-doing it
Symptoms: Back pain, back pain, back pain
Cravings?: None
Miss Anything?: Nothing in particular
Movement: He's going to be quite the athlete
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Not really
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Your baby is growing by leaps and bounds, reaching nine inches in length and passing the pound and a half mark. Under his skin, capillaries are forming and filling with blood and by week's end, air sacs (also lined with capillaries) will develop in his lungs, getting them ready for that first breath. Mind you, those lungs aren't ready for prime time just yet — but they are developing surfactant, a substance that will help them expand after birth. And speaking of breathing, your baby's tiny nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, are starting to open, and his vocal chords are getting ready to roar."

24 Weeks

How far along?: 24 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a cantaloupe
Total weight gain/loss: Around 12
Stretch marks?: None
Sleep?: It's been alright
Maternity clothes?: He's definitely a lot more noticeable when I wear them, so I've been showing him off lately!
Best moment this week: Mom and Meg came over and had a sleepover right at the end of 24 weeks/the beginning of 25 weeks.  It was spontaneous and fun! :-)
Worst Moment: Got my first "you're so big" comments which were really hurtful.  I guess I should prepare myself for some more of those.
Symptoms: Went to the chiropractor for an initial appointment and got adjusted.  It may be a coincidence, but I really felt better
Cravings?: Nada
Miss Anything?: Pretzel sandwiches (can't have them because of the lunchmeat)
Movement: He's a mover and a shaker!
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nothing in particular
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Your baby is about eight and a half inches long and weighs one and a half pounds, gaining steadily at a rate of six ounces per week. Much of that weight comes from accumulating baby fat, as well as from growing organs, bones, and muscle. Those little ears of his are getting sharper and can hear very loud sounds, from a yapping dog to a jackhammer. Also by now, that fabulous face is almost fully formed, complete with eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair. Is your baby a brunette, a blonde, or a redhead? Actually, right now his locks are white since there's no pigment yet."

23 Weeks

How far along?: 23 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a spaghetti squash
Total weight gain/loss: Around 10
Stretch marks?: None
Sleep?: Pretty good
Maternity clothes?: Started wearing some maternity dress pants too with the maternity shirts
Best moment this week: Got his personalized pillow and matching changing pad!
Worst Moment: Work drama has had me very stressed
Symptoms: My back has been killing me, Dr. recommended a chiropractor, massage, heating pad and baths
Cravings?: Nothing much
Miss Anything?: Soda
Movement: May be a soccer player with these kicks!
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nothing really
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Your little doll-sized babe is about to chub up a bit. His saggy skin will start to fit his frame as fat deposits fill things out. Beginning this week, he'll start to pack on the pounds (which means you will too!) and by month's end he'll be double the weight he is now (though you won't be — whew!). Right now, your baby's organs and bones are visible through his skin, which has a red hue due to developing veins and arteries beneath. But once those fat deposits settle in, he'll become less transparent."

22 Weeks

How far along?: 22 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a papaya
Total weight gain/loss: At one point this week, I was at the 9.5 pound mark, but now today I'm back to 7.5.  So strange
Stretch marks?: None
Sleep?: Getting more difficult due to my back hurting so bad
Maternity clothes?: Mixture of regular and maternity pants to work, maternity pants for everyday outfits, and mostly maternity shirts as well
Best moment this week: Ordered his personalized pillow and changing pad to match his crib blanket!
Worst Moment: Work drama has had me very stressed
Symptoms: My back is killing me
Cravings?: None really
Miss Anything?: Nothing in particular
Movement: Still a wiggle worm
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nope
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "This week, your baby weighs in at a whopping pound and measures nearly eight inches, about the size of a small doll. But your little guy (who now has eyebrows, eyelashes, and maybe even some hair on that little head) is a living one who can now perceive light and dark. He can also hear your voice, your heartbeat, your gurgling stomach, and the whoosh-whoosh of blood circulating through your body. And as his brain and nerve endings develop, he may reach for her face (or whatever he can reach) just to experiment with her newfound sense of touch."

Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nothing
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "How big is your baby? About the size of a large banana — and speaking of bananas, if you eat one this week, there's a good chance your baby will get a taste, too. That's because he swallows a bit of amniotic fluid each day (for nutrition, hydration, and to practice digesting), so he eats whatever's on your menu — and gets to put those developing taste buds to good use. So go ahead and nosh on those nachos (or crunch those crudités): Your baby may develop a taste for them when he’s older."
