40 Weeks

How far along?: 40 Weeks
Baby's size: Up to the size of a jackfruit, but also the size of Daisy who would only pose for one picture with me, but I guess it's better than nothing! :-)
Total weight gain/loss: 35
Stretch marks?: Still a tiger
Sleep?: Anxious about induction so not too much sleep
Maternity clothes?: Yep
Best moment this week: The end is in sight!  We are starting the induction process tomorrow (Tuesday 7/8) which is why I'm doing this post early
Worst Moment: Realizing that I won't go into labor naturally like most people to start the process :-(
Symptoms: Stuffy nose at night and RIDICULOUSLY hot when I sleep
Cravings?: I ate way too many dill pickle chips this week
Miss Anything?: Nothing in particular
Movement: Really big rolls that make my whole stomach shift
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nothing much
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Congratulations!  This week marks the official end of your pregnancy.  Your baby probably weighs anywhere from six to nine pounds and measures between 19 and 22 inches (though tons of perfectly healthy babies are smaller or bigger).  The bones in his skull haven't fused yet- Mother Nature's way of making it easier to get through the birth canal during labor and delivery.  He now has enough fat under the skin to maintain his body temperature outside the womb (with a little help from those cute outfits and swaddling blankets that you've been stocking up on!).  You (or actually the placenta) are still providing the antibodies he'll need to fight off infections for the first six months of his life.  And if you plan on breastfeeding, your milk will be giving him more antibodies that'll boost his immune system"

39 Weeks

How far along?: 39 Weeks
Baby's size: Up to the size of a mini watermelon!
Total weight gain/loss: 35
Stretch marks?: Yep, I'm pretty much a tiger at this point
Sleep?: Up every two hours to go to the bathroom.  I did have one sleepless night due to itching too
Maternity clothes?: Yes but even those are getting uncomfortable
Best moment this week: Officially writing this post on my due date!
Worst Moment: I had to go for non-stress tests multiple times this week due to the extreme itching.  I was in Monday and Thursday and the trips took FOREVER!!!  One of the trips took almost 6 hours and I was very annoyed
Symptoms: Swelling
Cravings?: We have just been going out to eat a lot before he gets here since we really won't get to go once he comes
Miss Anything?: Not getting my hopes up with each of these hospital trips hoping that he'll come!
Movement: He is definitely running out of room in there!
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Not really
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Coming down to the wire, your baby weighs around seven to eight pounds and measures 19 to 21 inches. Those measurements won't change much from now on, but his brain is still growing at an astonishing rate, a pace that will continue for the first three years of life. His pink skin has now turned whitish (even babies who'll eventually have darker skin appear whitish now — they haven't yet developed pigment). His head may have dropped into your pelvis by now, which makes your breathing easier but walking harder."

38 Weeks

How far along?: 38 Weeks
Baby's size: Bennett is up to the size of a pumpkin
Total weight gain/loss: About 35
Stretch marks?: TERRIBLE and ridiculously itchy!!
Sleep?: Trying to get as much as I can before B comes, but I get really hot
Maternity clothes?: Yes
Best moment this week: Getting so close now!!  We absolutely cannot wait to meet him!!
Worst Moment: I thought I may be leaking fluid, so I called the OB and they sent me in to the hospital to get checked (Thursday 6/26) but after a few hours of being in there and lots of yucky tests, they sent me home
Symptoms: Congestion, not easy to move around (or accept the help), and lots and lots of swelling in my face!
Cravings?: I will be having a Diet Dr. Pepper and a Turkey Sandwich (possibly a pretzel sandwich) as soon as he is here... mark my words ;-)
Miss Anything?: Not having to huff and puff to get around.  Even being able to get up off the couch will be nice when he comes!
Movement: I am definitely going to miss these movements!  I love watching them!
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nothing in particular!
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Hey, your little one isn't so little anymore, weighing close to seven pounds and measuring 20 inches long. Fetal development is nearly complete as your baby tends to a few last-minute details like shedding the skin-protecting vernix and lanugo. He's also producing more surfactant, a substance that prevents the air sacs in his lungs from sticking to one another once he starts to breathe. Most of the changes this week are small but important: He’s continuing to add fat (so he can take advantage of all those photo ops by sporting a round, cute baby look!) and fine-tuning his brain and nervous system (so he can deal with all the stimulation that awaits him once he makes his entrance into the world)."

37 Weeks

How far along?: 37 Weeks, Full Term according to some sources!!
Baby's size: Bennett is up to the size of a swiss chard or leek.  When we had my latest specialist appointment the day I turned 37 weeks, B weighed 7 pounds and 3 ounces already!
Total weight gain/loss: Haven't gotten on the scale since it hit 30.  With vacation this week, it's hard to know
Stretch marks?: Looking like a tiger these days
Sleep?: Apparently I'm snoring like crazy, so I'm keeping Jason awake :-(
Maternity clothes?: Yes
Best moment this week: Vacationing with my family at OCNJ.  We weren't sure we were going to be able to come. Also, being cleared from the specialist of my placenta issues.
Worst Moment: Not being able to do everything that everyone else did at the beach
Symptoms: Cramping, acid reflux and back aches
Cravings?: None really
Miss Anything?: Apparently the beach = Crystal Light Peach Iced Tea in my mind, which I can't have due to the artificial sweeteners, so I guess that's what I miss
Movement: He's definitely keeping my on my toes with these movements!  Sometimes he'll get my rip or hip and it makes me stop dead in my tracks
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nothing really
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Congratulations! You've got what is officially considered a full-term baby, even with three weeks to go. That doesn't mean he's finished growing — in fact, he's still packing on about a half pound a week (at this age, the average fetus weighs about 6.5 pounds). That makes it a little crowded in your uterus, so he’s probably not kicking as much, though he’s probably stretching, rolling a bit, and wiggling (all of which you’ll be able to feel!). Right now, your little superstar is busy rehearsing for his big debut, inhaling and exhaling amniotic fluid (to get the lungs ready for that first breath), sucking his thumb (to prepare for that first suckle of milk), blinking, and turning from side to side."

36 Weeks

How far along?: 36 Weeks
Baby's size: Bennett is up to the size of romaine lettuce
Total weight gain/loss: Hit the big, bad 30 :-(
Stretch marks?: Yes, wayyyy too many
Sleep?: What's sleep ;-)  A few hours at a time
Maternity clothes?: Yes
Best moment this week: Spending time with my teammies at school.  Also, since Jason was done school many days before me, he got lots of stuff done and things washed in Bennett's room!
Worst Moment: Throwing up in the middle of the night one night because I ate too late
Symptoms: Same as before... Back aches and acid reflux
Cravings?: Dr. Pepper floats from Taco Bell's Happier Hour!!
Miss Anything?: Maybe soda once or twice but nothing major
Movement: It's insane to watch him roll around.  Jason and I are obsessed with watching my belly
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nothing in particular
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Forget your aching back (and everything else!) by trying to focus on your baby, who is now about six pounds and 20 inches long, with soft bones and cartilage to allow a safer journey through the exit door. Most of his systems (from circulatory to musculoskeletal) are ready for prime time, though his digestion system — which has done only practice runs so far — will kick into gear as he takes his first suckle at the breast or bottle."

35 Weeks

How far along?: 35 Weeks
Baby's size: Bennett is up to the size of a honeydew
Total weight gain/loss: Up to 28 now
Stretch marks?: Yes and they make me very sad
Sleep?: With Jason's new injury and needing his own stack of pillows, the bed is awfully cramped
Maternity clothes?: The full panel pants folded down have been what I've been doing lately
Best moment this week: Finishing up the school year with my kids
Worst Moment: Jason dislocating his middle finger sliding into home during a baseball game and having to rush him to get it looked at.  Who would have though the almost 9 month pregnant girl would be driving her husband haha
Symptoms: Back aches, acid reflux... the normal
Cravings?: Slushies and party mix
Miss Anything?: Nothing in a particular
Movement: His movements are starting to hurt a good bit.  I'm not sure how he's not ripping my insides apart
Anything making you queasy or sick?: No but Jason's body wash has been smelling exceptionally good, the opposite of queasy/sick I guess.
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Your baby is standing tall (so to speak) this week at about 20 inches and continues his steady weight gain (he’s about 5.5 pounds). While she won't get much longer, she will continue to pack on the pounds — including large amounts of baby fat — right up 'til delivery day. Something else that's moving at a mind-boggling pace these day: fetal brain development! There’s a lot going on inside that tiny head, which is, by the way, still soft to allow an easier exit through the birth canal."

34 Weeks

How far along?: 34 Weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a coconut... however, we could only find a small one :-(
Total weight gain/loss: 25
Stretch marks?: Yes, around my belly button :-(
Sleep?: Getting 2-3 hour stretches without peeing
Maternity clothes?: Yes please
Best moment this week: Getting to meet Bennett's BFF Hayden!!
Worst Moment: Sweating my butt off all day long at school
Symptoms: My face has officially started swelling... plus, backaches are back to go with the acid reflux I get at night
Cravings?: I have moved onto Twix this week from my Kit Kats... thank you Easter candy!
Miss Anything?: Nothing really
Movement: BK is definitely running out of room because he is hurting much more as he rolls around
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Not really
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "What's new this week? Your baby is clocking in at five pounds and could be as tall as 20 inches by now, and the vernix (the white coating protecting your baby’s skin) is getting thicker. This week, a boy's testicles start making their way down from his abdomen to their final destination: his scrotum (look out below!). While about three to four percent of boys are born with undescended testicles, it's nothing to worry about — they usually head downtown before junior turns a year old. In other baby-related developments, those tiny fingernails have probably reached the tips of his fingers by now — and getting ready for that first postpartum manicure."

33 Weeks

How far along?: 33 Weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a jimaca and/or a durian fruit... what the heck are those??  Mom was able to find a jicama at Weis, thankfully!  In real news, when we were at the specialist this week, they measured him at 5 pounds, 3 ounces
Total weight gain/loss: Up to 23
Stretch marks?: Found one under my belly when I was recording him moving all around :-(  That was a very sad day
Sleep?: If I can go three hours without needing to pee, I consider it successful.  It's pretty exhausting though!
Maternity clothes?: Of course
Best moment this week: Getting our pictures back from Beth!  Here are some of them!  We are obsessed!!!
Worst Moment: Finding out my placenta is only 2 cm away from my cervix and that's the minimum needed to deliver normally.  They were hoping for more of a move
Symptoms: Backaches and acid, the usual
Cravings?: I had my first meltdown... over fried pickles.  I guess making it almost 34 weeks before the first one is pretty good
Miss Anything?: Nothing comes to mind
Movement: He seems to be restless, always rolling around trying to get comfortable... or that is what I think he's doing.  Some of my students felt his hiccups this week too
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Just smell sensitivity of stinky 8th graders sometimes after gym class ;-)
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Your baby is still gaining weight (about half a pound a week), and he could grow up to another full inch this week. With that much baby inside your uterus, your amniotic-fluid level has maxed out, which explains why some of his pokes and kicks feel pretty sharp these days. (There's less fluid to cushion the blows.) Antibodies are being passed from you to your little one as he continues to develop her own fetal immune system, which will come in handy once he's outside the womb and fending off all sorts of germs."

32 Weeks

How far along?: 32 Weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a squash
Total weight gain/loss: Up to 23
Stretch marks?: None still
Sleep?: Getting up to pee about 4-6 times a night... that part isn't so fun
Maternity clothes?: Yep!
Best moment this week: We got our maternity pictures taken with Beth Smith Photography!  I absolutely cannot wait to see them- I'll come back and post some when we get them!!
Worst Moment: I think just the unknown of if I'll start bleeding again... but that's starting to subside now that it's been a week
Symptoms: Still the acid
Cravings?: I eat a buffalo chicken salad minus the chicken almost every night for dinner
Miss Anything?: Not anything specific at the moment
Movement: Movements are still happening, not kicks, more like rolls.  And it also feels like he has the hiccups more often than he doesn't anymore
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nothing in particular
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "What's up with your baby? He's starting to get ready for his big debut, tipping the scales at almost four pounds and topping out at just about 19 inches. In these past few weeks, it's all about practice, practice, practice as he hones the skills he'll need to thrive outside the womb — from swallowing and breathing to kicking and sucking. And speaking of sucking, your little one has been able to suck his thumb for a while now. Something else to note: As more and more fat accumulates under your baby's skin, he's becoming less transparent and more opaque."

31 Weeks

How far along?: 31 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a pineapple
Total weight gain/loss: About 20
Stretch marks?: None
Sleep?: Slept terribly at the hospital, but better in my own bed
Maternity clothes?: Didn't wear much more than the hospital gown this week
Best moment this week: At the very beginning of this week, Ashlee and I got maternity pictures taken together and they were a lot of fun

Worst Moment: Being taken by ambulance to the hospital on Tuesday due to bleeding.  I was in Tuesday-Thursday because of bleeding of contractions.  B needs to stay put!
Symptoms: The indigestion/acid is no joke
Cravings?: The grilled cheese from the hospital was pretty awesome!  I started craving that but it was only available at lunch time and not for dinner
Miss Anything?: Nothing in particular- just my bed when I wasn't home
Movement: He's totally tucking and rolling in there or something
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nothing really
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Weighing in at three-plus pounds and measuring 18 inches long, your baby is quickly approaching his birth length — though he's got to pack on another three to five pounds before D-day. Also developing at an impressive clip: your baby's brain connections (he's got to make trillions of them!). He's now processing information, tracking light, and perceiving signals from all five senses. He's also putting in longer stretches of sleep, which is why you're probably noticing more defined patterns of wakefulness (and movement) and rest (when he’s pretty still)."

30 Weeks

How far along?: 30 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a large cabbage
Total weight gain/loss: Up to 20
Stretch marks?: None at the moment
Sleep?: Other than my husband stealing the covers, pretty good.  I've added a body pillow to my nightly routine.
Maternity clothes?: Maxi skirts are my new best friend
Best moment this week: Seeing everyone at Bennett's baby shower!  We had an awesome time!!  We also had an appointment at Womb With A View to see him in 3D with the family members who could come.  He's getting so big!!
Worst Moment: Exhaustion.  It feels like I can't catch up
Symptoms: I still am dealing with backaches and acid reflux is a new visitor as well
Cravings?: BBQ Chips, but that wasn't too uncommon before pregnancy
Miss Anything?: Still soda... I don't think that one is going away
Movement: Always moving around in there
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nothing really
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Your belly’s increasing size is a definite clue that your baby is getting bigger every day, weighing in at over three pounds now (he’ll be packing on the weight at a rate of half a pound per week for the next seven weeks). Also growing daily is his brain, which is actually starting to look like the real thing with those characteristic grooves and wrinkles. And now that your little genius can regulate his own body temperature and turn up the heat, he'll start shedding lanugo, the downy body hair that's been keeping him warm up until now."

29 Weeks

How far along?: 29 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a butternut squash
Total weight gain/loss: 18.5 last time I checked
Stretch marks?: None thankfully
Sleep?: Can't get enough of it!  Can't wait until volleyball is over so I can nap!!!
Maternity clothes?: Still loving them even if the panel hurts sometimes
Best moment this week: I have to pick two.  First, on Friday, the start of 29 weeks, we went to the specialist to hear about my placenta and we got some amazing pictures in 3D!  He's so handsome already!

Also, we had our family Flashlight Easter Egg hunt at Aunt Lee Lee's and she made BK his own eggs complete with washcloths, pacifiers and wipes inside.  She's spoiling him already :-)
Worst Moment: My placenta only moved 1.5 cm of the 2.0 it needs to.  We will follow up at 34 weeks to see if it's moved.
Symptoms: I went to the chiropractor for my back and it made my back feel temporarily better but made my sport on my side hurt terribly.  I was in tears all night, so I think I'll just have to deal
Cravings?: Kit Kats lately (strange, they would have never been my choice before)
Miss Anything?: I needed a full serving of Spark, but I can only have 1/2 of one.
Movement: Jason is enjoying watching him move like crazy at night before bed
Anything making you queasy or sick?: The glucose test made me very sick.  Luckily, my Mom was able to talk me out of throwing it up!
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "How big is your baby this week? He weighs nearly three pounds now and measures about 17 inches. Though he's getting pretty close to his birth length, he still has to chub out a bit. In fact, over the next 11 weeks, he'll more than double — or even come close to tripling — his weight. And as he grows and the room in your womb gets tighter, you'll be less likely to feel those big kicks and more likely to get poked by an elbow or jabbed by a knee."

Friday, April 18, 2014

28 Weeks

How far along?: 28 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of an eggplant
Total weight gain/loss: A little less than 20
Stretch marks?: Still none
Sleep?: Hasn't been too bad lately
Maternity clothes?: Loving them over than the full panel pants hit right on my "bad spot" on my right side so that's not very comfortable
Best moment this week: We've been going to childbirth classes and it's really fun to learn all of the information (must be the teacher in me haha)
Worst Moment: Being busy makes me overwhelmed sometimes, but that should end in May
Symptoms: Just my back and bad spot on the front
Cravings?: Nothing in particular
Miss Anything?: Nothing in particular here either
Movement: He's constantly moving!!
Anything making you queasy or sick?: 8th grader smell sometimes gets me!
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Your baby is settling into the proper position for birth, with his head facing downward (toward your body's nearest exit!). Your little work in progress is now about 2.5 pounds and almost 16 inches long. He's busy adding new skills such as blinking to an already impressive repertoire of tricks like coughing, sucking, hiccuping, and taking practice breaths. Your baby's sleep now includes the REM (rapid eye movement) phase — and that means he could be dreaming already (what do you suppose he's dreaming about?)."

27 Weeks

How far along?: 27 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a rutabega-- what the heck is a rutabega?!
Total weight gain/loss: Around 18
Stretch marks?: None for now
Sleep?: Hard to sleep on my right side due to stretching pain
Maternity clothes?: Yep- so comfortable!
Best moment this week: BK and I got to celebrate Ashlee and Hayden at their baby shower!
Worst Moment: Side pain... the Doctor says it's from stretching and my rib cage not expanding, but MAN does it hurt!!!
Symptoms: Back pain and side pain... I think that's going to be the answer for quite awhile
Cravings?: None
Miss Anything?: Nothing in particular
Movement: Feeling lots!
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Just smells every once in awhile
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "For a baby, it's time to trade in the old crown-to-rump measurement for a new head-to-toe standard. So what are your baby’s stats this week (which, coincidentally, is the end of the second trimester)? Fifteen inches — more than a foot long — and triple (or even quadruple) what it was in week 12. His weight is creeping up the charts as well, coming in at just over two pounds. More big news: Your baby may recognize your voice by now, so feel free to serenade your belly (start learning those lullabies!)."

26 Weeks

How far along?: 26 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a head of lettuce
Total weight gain/loss: Around 15
Stretch marks?: None
Sleep?: I have a cold or allergies again, so it's been fun
Maternity clothes?: Yes
Best moment this week: I have two this week.... First, my cousins Karli and Lauren took me for the day, told me to block it out, but wouldn't tell me what we were doing.  They surprised me with lunch and a massage at Heritage Hills and it was SO relaxing!!  I'm so blessed <3

Also, my Dad and Jason worked hard on a box valence for the nursery and I LOVE how it turned out!  We just saw a picture, so they designed the whole thing and I bought the fabric that matches his custom blanket, pillow and changing pad cover.  It looks so awesome!!

Worst Moment: Parent drama that comes with teaching/coaching
Symptoms: Back pain and sinus congestion
Cravings?: I can't wait until I get to have ranch from Big Woody's again!
Miss Anything?: Not much
Movement: Yep, loving these kicks and punches!
Anything making you queasy or sick?: None
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "What's up with your baby? He now weighs a full two pounds and measures nine-plus inches. And this week, his eyes, which until now were developing under fused eyelids, start to open. Of course, there's not much to see in there, but if your baby spots a bright light (or hears a loud noise) near your belly, you may notice an increase in fetal activity. (“Hey, I'm in here, Mommy! Where’s the party!”) What accounts for that response? His brain is more developed and sophisticated."

Sunday, March 30, 2014

25 Weeks

How far along?: 25 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of cauliflower
Total weight gain/loss: Around 15
Stretch marks?: None
Sleep?: Pretty normal for the most part
Maternity clothes?: Yep, very comfortable maternity clothes at that :-)
Best moment this week: BK got to support his Daddy at his first MiniTHON at Central!  We lasted for part of the time, but next year, when he's an outside baby, we may even get him a personalized onesie to wear!
Worst Moment: Pure exhaustion.  With PSSAs and coaching, I really feel like I'm over-doing it
Symptoms: Back pain, back pain, back pain
Cravings?: None
Miss Anything?: Nothing in particular
Movement: He's going to be quite the athlete
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Not really
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Your baby is growing by leaps and bounds, reaching nine inches in length and passing the pound and a half mark. Under his skin, capillaries are forming and filling with blood and by week's end, air sacs (also lined with capillaries) will develop in his lungs, getting them ready for that first breath. Mind you, those lungs aren't ready for prime time just yet — but they are developing surfactant, a substance that will help them expand after birth. And speaking of breathing, your baby's tiny nostrils, which have been plugged up until now, are starting to open, and his vocal chords are getting ready to roar."

Sunday, March 23, 2014

24 Weeks

How far along?: 24 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a cantaloupe
Total weight gain/loss: Around 12
Stretch marks?: None
Sleep?: It's been alright
Maternity clothes?: He's definitely a lot more noticeable when I wear them, so I've been showing him off lately!
Best moment this week: Mom and Meg came over and had a sleepover right at the end of 24 weeks/the beginning of 25 weeks.  It was spontaneous and fun! :-)
Worst Moment: Got my first "you're so big" comments which were really hurtful.  I guess I should prepare myself for some more of those.
Symptoms: Went to the chiropractor for an initial appointment and got adjusted.  It may be a coincidence, but I really felt better
Cravings?: Nada
Miss Anything?: Pretzel sandwiches (can't have them because of the lunchmeat)
Movement: He's a mover and a shaker!
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nothing in particular
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Your baby is about eight and a half inches long and weighs one and a half pounds, gaining steadily at a rate of six ounces per week. Much of that weight comes from accumulating baby fat, as well as from growing organs, bones, and muscle. Those little ears of his are getting sharper and can hear very loud sounds, from a yapping dog to a jackhammer. Also by now, that fabulous face is almost fully formed, complete with eyelashes, eyebrows, and hair. Is your baby a brunette, a blonde, or a redhead? Actually, right now his locks are white since there's no pigment yet."

Monday, March 17, 2014

23 Weeks

How far along?: 23 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a spaghetti squash
Total weight gain/loss: Around 10
Stretch marks?: None
Sleep?: Pretty good
Maternity clothes?: Started wearing some maternity dress pants too with the maternity shirts
Best moment this week: Got his personalized pillow and matching changing pad!
Worst Moment: Work drama has had me very stressed
Symptoms: My back has been killing me, Dr. recommended a chiropractor, massage, heating pad and baths
Cravings?: Nothing much
Miss Anything?: Soda
Movement: May be a soccer player with these kicks!
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nothing really
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "Your little doll-sized babe is about to chub up a bit. His saggy skin will start to fit his frame as fat deposits fill things out. Beginning this week, he'll start to pack on the pounds (which means you will too!) and by month's end he'll be double the weight he is now (though you won't be — whew!). Right now, your baby's organs and bones are visible through his skin, which has a red hue due to developing veins and arteries beneath. But once those fat deposits settle in, he'll become less transparent."

Friday, March 7, 2014

22 Weeks

How far along?: 22 weeks
Baby's size: BK is the size of a papaya
Total weight gain/loss: At one point this week, I was at the 9.5 pound mark, but now today I'm back to 7.5.  So strange
Stretch marks?: None
Sleep?: Getting more difficult due to my back hurting so bad
Maternity clothes?: Mixture of regular and maternity pants to work, maternity pants for everyday outfits, and mostly maternity shirts as well
Best moment this week: Ordered his personalized pillow and changing pad to match his crib blanket!
Worst Moment: Work drama has had me very stressed
Symptoms: My back is killing me
Cravings?: None really
Miss Anything?: Nothing in particular
Movement: Still a wiggle worm
Anything making you queasy or sick?: Nope
Gender: B-O-Y!!!
What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "This week, your baby weighs in at a whopping pound and measures nearly eight inches, about the size of a small doll. But your little guy (who now has eyebrows, eyelashes, and maybe even some hair on that little head) is a living one who can now perceive light and dark. He can also hear your voice, your heartbeat, your gurgling stomach, and the whoosh-whoosh of blood circulating through your body. And as his brain and nerve endings develop, he may reach for her face (or whatever he can reach) just to experiment with her newfound sense of touch."

What is baby up to?: From What to Expect When You're Expecting: "How big is your baby? About the size of a large banana — and speaking of bananas, if you eat one this week, there's a good chance your baby will get a taste, too. That's because he swallows a bit of amniotic fluid each day (for nutrition, hydration, and to practice digesting), so he eats whatever's on your menu — and gets to put those developing taste buds to good use. So go ahead and nosh on those nachos (or crunch those crudités): Your baby may develop a taste for them when he’s older."
