Double Header

My days are SOOO off since school has let out.  Thursday was our first day off for summer, and we went to brunch and dropped my car off for an inspection and an oil change.  48 hours and $1200 later, I finally have my car back.

Yesterday I had to babysit at 6, so we spend the entire day cleaning... yes, the entire day!  It was nice to have a teammate, which cut down on our time.  All of the rooms (minus the bathrooms) are cleaned and organized.  The bathrooms will wait until Monday.

I am convinced that it is Sunday, so much that when I was on Facebook and someone wrote "Work on a Saturday?" that I almost corrected them.  Oops!  Today I will spend the day at two baseball games, one in about at hour at 11:00, and then the next one follow it about 1:30.

I thought I'd share some baseball shots since it's baseball day :-)

Bittersweet

Today was the last day with students for my second year of teaching.  I had a great group of students this year and the way they have supported both myself and Kadence has been incredible.  Over a week ago, I gave each of my students a Kure for Kadence pink bracelet, and I was so happy to see how many of them are still wearing the bracelets.  Look at my kids-- so proud!!

Thoughts and Prayers Please

So my blog decided to be dumb and tell me that my username and password were wrong for a few weeks.  Now that it's done throwing a temper tantrum, I have been able to login and ask for some specific prayer requests.

As many of you know, my niece Kadence was diagnosed with a rare blood disease called HLH a little bit after Easter.  She was in the Hershey Medical Pediatric ICU for a few weeks and then moved into a regular room.  A week ago, she was able to come home from the hospital to her newly renovated room!

Tonight, we got information from Ryan (Jason's brother) that the doctors are not happy with Kadence's blood pressure numbers and her white blood cell count.  They are going to keep her overnight :-(

So if you could, please say a prayer for this little beauty tonight...

One Tree Hill

I can still remember back to my junior year of high school when I started watching my all-time favorite show, One Tree Hill.

It started as this:

And ended like this:
I can still remember when I liked Lucas the "good boy" in the beginning of the season and I wasn't so sure about Nathan since he was mean to Lucas.  I remember watching Haley tutor Nathan and secretly seeing the good in him before it was revealed in the show.  It was then that my crush on Nathan started.  Come on... look at him!  I was 16 at the time, and now that I'm 24, I have seen him go from a high school jock to a great father on TV

From watching Lucas deciding between Brooke and Peyton to the action and tragedies that have happened in the past seasons, I have enjoyed One Tree Hill's run of its nine seasons.  I can still recall Haley having her baby during graduation who turned out to be the cutest little boy ever... the cutest little boy of the time!
But, I then fell even more in love with this little cutie, Logan!  Tell me he isn't the cutest thing EVER!!!
While it makes me sad to be sitting here awaiting the season finale in a few minutes, it makes me so happy to sit here and reminisce about the past nine seasons of One Tree Hill, and how some of the stories seemed crazy at the time, but in the end, I am so happy I've been an adoring fan of the seasons!  I can proudly say that I own all of the seasons on DVD (minus season 9 that is on now) and I look forward to sharing them with my kids someday!!

Lesson Learned

Like my previous post says, I started a new adventure this year, and it has proven to be a life lesson for myself.  I have never been good at losing, and it was proven last night.  It is SO hard to lose when you aren't in the game.  I found myself really frustrated because I couldn't inspire or motivate them.  I learned a lot about having to be the bigger person and teach them in their moments of frustrations.  Today at practice was a great change from yesterday's game and it's going to be a great season.  In one day I was able to grow as a person and as a first year coach!

Lovely Ladies

I assumed a new role this year as the head coach of our girls junior high volleyball program.  I wasn't sure if it was the right decision for me, but I started with the Intramural program which made the transition into the regular season a breeze.  I've really enjoyed the beginning of the season so far, and we have our first scrimmage tomorrow, which I'm really excited about.  Here are the girls, which is a big bunch, but I wouldn't trade them for anything!!

Looking forward to this season!!

Yesterday, we spent the afternoon at a 1st Birthday Party for one of my favorite little guys.  I just wanted to take a minute and share my favorite picture from the day!

What a cutie!!
